How do I start a session?
Tap the Kanta button on the main screen to let it listen and identify the song playing around you. You can also use the search button to manually find a song by title or artist. Either way, once a song is identified it uses 1 session.
How do sessions work?
You get 5 free Kanta Sessions per month. Song recognition is always free and unlimited. A Kanta Session is used when you enter the lyrics camera to record. Once you are in a session you can record as many videos as you want without using additional sessions. Sessions reset at the start of each new month.
What does Kanta Pro include?
Kanta Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the monthly limit entirely. You get unlimited Kanta Sessions with no restrictions. Song recognition is always free regardless of plan. Find Kanta Pro in the Settings tab inside the app.
How do I restore my Kanta Pro purchase?
Open the Settings tab inside Kanta and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
The lyrics are out of sync. What do I do?
Sync accuracy depends on how close Shazam matched the song. For best results, hold your phone toward the speakers when identifying the song. If lyrics are still off, tap outside the sync area to manually scroll, then tap again to re-engage auto-sync. If a specific song is consistently out of sync, please email us at clarence@kanta.cam so we can look into it and fix it.
Why don't some songs have scrolling lyrics?
Kanta uses timestamped LRC lyrics for auto-scrolling. If a song doesn't have synced lyrics available in our database, plain lyrics will still appear but won't scroll automatically. Coverage improves regularly.
No lyrics were found for a song I searched.
If you searched for a song and no lyrics were found, no session was deducted. Please email us at clarence@kanta.cam with the song title and artist so we can look into checking it.
Where are my saved videos?
All videos and snapshots are saved directly to your iOS Photos library. Open the Photos app and check your Recents or the Kanta album.
Kanta can't access my camera or microphone
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera (or Microphone) and make sure Kanta is enabled. Both permissions are required for recording.
